MAKE YOUR OWN FASHION POSES
INSTRUCTIONS:Click here to print out your template FigurePivotPointsCroquis. On this page you will find a FREE template and instructions for use in building your own fashion poses. I use this template in many of my classes and is especially helpful to beginners with no access to a model to draw from. Supplies needed – You will need tracing paper, ruler, fine point marker, white out pen for corrections.
Put template under tracing paper. Draw in vertical black center line as shown. Draw in pivot points #3 (rib cage) & #4 (pelvis) as shown.
To Draw Rib Cage – Press pen into Pivot Point #3 as show, turn template under the tracing paper. Draw in ALL parts of rib cage including seam lines, center line, and shoulder pivot points.
To Draw Pelvis – Reposition template under Pivot Point #4 and turn template in the OPPOSITE direction as shown. Draw in ALL parts of the pelvis including center line and top of leg bone pivot points.
To Draw Head – Find Point #5 – pivot from there so head goes back over vertical center line.
To Draw Legs – Position template under top of leg – Pivot Point #6. I usually draw the “weight bearing” leg first. It should remain directly under the hip.
Position template under Pivot Point #7 for other leg. Swing leg out.
To Draw Arms – Find Point #8 – Swing arm up. Go from pivot point (joint) to pivot point #9 & #10 as shown.
